Aspen township is renowned for its luxury lifestyle, accommodation, dining and facilities. Aspen Mountain is located in the centre of town and the surrounding area encompasses the luxury ski resort Aspen is known for. Aspen Mountain is best for intermediate to advanced skiing and snowboarding, with no beginner trails. In summer, Aspen Mountain offers unparalleled spectator views at the top of the Silver Queen Gondola and numerous hiking trails. Aspen Highlands is a 10 minute drive from downtown Aspen and is the base point for Maroon Bells tours, as well as the location of the world-famous Highland Bowl hike in winter. Buttermilk Mountain is also a 10 minute drive and offers mostly beginner to intermediate level skiing as well as being the location of the X Games yearly.
Snowmass is about a 30 minute drive from Aspen and offers more family friendly accommodation, facilities and activities. Snowmass Mountain is the largest of the four mountains in the area, and is best for a diverse range of skiing and snowboarding abilities from beginners to advanced. In summer, Snowmass has weekly concerts, a bike park and numerous family oriented activities on offer.
The Aspen Airport currently has direct flights daily from Denver, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Dallas, Houston, Chicago and Phoenix. The airport caters to both private and commercial flights.
Alternatively, Aspen is located around 200 miles or a 3.5 hours drive from Denver. The drive is along the I-70 highway and offers stunning mountain views.
